KsE : Whoring to MTV?

One thing I really hate about Killswitch Engage is how they re-record their songs for their music videos, they replace almost all the screams/growls with clean singing. They did it with the End of Heartache video, and now they did it with their new single "My Curse" from their upcoming album Daylight Dies. It's a real pity because it's a really great song, but the edited version pales so much in comparison to the original version.

It's obviously a tactic to garner more fans from the mainstream rock audience, but it's kinda sad to see a band willing to compromise their integrity to the extent of modifying their songs simply for the sake of getting more sales. What's next, selling their songs to be used as jingles?

Check out the edited (radio friendly) version here.

Original (album) version can be found here.

  1. I guess there's a reason why Killswitch Engage is labeled as the Def Leppard of Metalcore.

  2. Ha come on they aren't THAT bad. And even if it is, as long as they aren't known as the Bon Jovi of Metalcore, that would be so much worse.
